The Voice Actors standard centers the person who actually performs the vocal work. That requirement applies at every qualifying level of the Human–AI Spectrum.
Processing can support a human voice.
Noise reduction, EQ, compression, mastering, and other production tools can shape a recording without replacing its human source. Substantial AI assistance in production still requires a human core performance.
A synthetic voice is a different claim.
AI-generated or AI-cloned vocals do not qualify as human vocal performance. Editing, directing, or transforming a synthetic voice does not change that boundary.
Make the performance credit clear.
Identify the performer and describe significant processing or AI assistance where it matters. The mark is a commitment about the work you label; it is not a legal remedy for unauthorized cloning or a substitute for a contract.
