Human creativity has more than one process.

The Human–AI Spectrum has five levels. Written work at VH3, VH4, or VH5 qualifies for the VerifiedHuman mark. These levels describe how the writing was authored.

VH5 · Entirely Human-Written

• You author the original work without generative AI.
• Traditional tools such as word processors, spell-check, and thesauruses are fine.
• The work reflects your voice, perspective, and creative decisions.

VH4 · Human-Written, AI-Enhanced

• You supply the original writing.
• AI may support research, outlining, brainstorming, and citation formatting. It may also improve the clarity, grammar, and flow of your writing.
• Your ideas, meaning, and voice remain your own. You review the changes and take responsibility for the final work.
• Having AI generate a draft or passage from a prompt or outline is assessed under VH3.

VH3 · Human-Led, AI-Assisted

• You lead the creative process and substantially reauthor AI-generated material in your own voice.
• The final writing reflects your authorship and creative choices. Minor edits or a particular percentage of changed words are not enough.
• Use the Five-Word Principle to examine wording carried over from an AI-generated draft. It is a gut-check, not a numerical threshold.

Work below VH3 does not qualify for the VerifiedHuman mark.

AI translation is permitted with clear disclosure. Identify the translated version’s use of AI even when the original was written without generative AI.

VH5 · Entirely Human-Created

• You capture or create all visual elements without generative AI.
• Traditional tools for color correction, exposure adjustment, image editing, and CAD are fine.
• The work reflects your vision, perspective, and creative decisions.

VH4 · Human-Created, AI-Enhanced

• You capture or create all visual elements.
• Generative AI may help with research, reference gathering, written briefs, and technical documentation.
• You make the visual and creative decisions. AI supports the workflow without generating the visual content.

VH3 · Human-Led, AI-Assisted

• You lead the creative process and substantially transform any AI-generated material you use.
• AI may supply reference images, variations, or components. Your work must go beyond minor edits to that output.
• The finished work reflects your vision and creative choices. Use the Capture or Arrangement Principle to examine what you have transformed.

Work below VH3 does not qualify for the VerifiedHuman mark.

VH5 · Entirely Human-Composed

• You select and arrange all notes, sounds, and beats without generative AI.
• Traditional pitch correction, timing, mixing, mastering, and effects are fine.
• The music reflects your creativity, expression, and artistic decisions.

VH4 · Human-Composed, AI-Enhanced

• You select and arrange all musical elements.
• Generative AI may help with lyric prompts, research, references, and technical documentation.
• AI supports the workflow without generating the musical content you present as your composition.

VH3 · Human-Led, AI-Assisted

• You lead the creative process and substantially transform any AI-generated musical material you use.
• AI may supply melodies, rhythms, loops, or variations. Your contribution must go beyond minor edits.
• The finished music reflects your artistic choices. Use the Five-Note/Five-Beat Principle to examine sequences carried into the work.

Work below VH3 does not qualify for the VerifiedHuman mark.

The Human–AI Spectrum has five levels. Vocal work at VH3, VH4, or VH5 qualifies for the VerifiedHuman mark.

At all three levels, a human performs the vocal work. Transforming a synthetic or cloned voice does not make it a human performance.

VH5 · Entirely Human-Performed

• You perform all vocal content without generative AI.
• Traditional noise reduction, EQ, compression, and mastering are fine.
• The work reflects your voice, interpretation, and emotional expression.

VH4 · Human-Performed, AI-Enhanced

• You perform all vocal content.
• Generative AI may help with scripts, research, session notes, and technical documentation.
• Your voice and artistic choices lead the work. AI supports the workflow without generating the vocal performance.

VH3 · Human-Led, AI-Assisted

• You lead and give the vocal performance.
• AI may make a substantial contribution to production, including heavy processing or timing adjustments.
• The core performance remains human and reflects your voice and interpretation. AI-generated or AI-cloned vocals do not qualify.

• You conceive, develop, and assemble all content elements without generative AI.
• Traditional editing, design, audio, publishing, scheduling, and SEO tools are fine.
• Your vision, voice, and editorial decisions shape every element.

VH4 · Human-Produced, AI-Enhanced

• You conceive, develop, and assemble all content elements.
• Generative AI may help with research, transcription, metadata, SEO suggestions, caption formatting, and scheduling optimization.
• AI supports production without generating the creative content itself. Your voice and editorial decisions shape the work.

VH3 · Human-Led, AI-Assisted

• You lead the content strategy and creative direction.
• AI may supply draft copy, image options, or other raw material. You substantially transform and integrate those elements into the finished work.
• The result reflects your editorial vision and voice. A collection of AI outputs with minor adjustments does not qualify.
• Use the Replacement Principle to examine where the creative direction comes from.
