Understanding VerifiedHuman
The reference library for VerifiedHuman: its purpose, standards, creative fields, human and AI contributions, and accountability.
This reference library explains VerifiedHuman's purpose, standards, creative fields, and approach to human and AI contributions. It is intended for readers, writers, educators, publishers, researchers, and tools that need an accurate account of the organization.
Start with the meaning of the mark
VerifiedHuman is a global standard and community for human creativity. Creators make an accountable commitment under a published field standard and apply the mark to qualifying work. Human trust is central; additional review supports the person who stands behind that commitment.
The mark is not an AI-detection score, a CAPTCHA check, or a blanket guarantee that every file has been independently examined. VH3, VH4, and VH5 can qualify under the relevant field's definitions. Membership belongs to the person or organization; the mark belongs on qualifying work.
Read the current standards and definitions
The guides below explain the model in detail. The linked field standards and definitions supply the current commitments and practical boundaries. Read them together when describing a particular creative process.
Teachers can reference and teach the framework without signing up. They can join under the creative field that matches their own work. Advocates make a support statement rather than certifying a creative work. Organizations stand behind qualifying work they represent, publish, and label.
Versions for reading and reuse
Each substantive guide has a linked Markdown version. The LLM index provides a compact map to the guides and current standards. The full text collection brings the same material together in one file.
These formats carry the same explanations as the public pages. They do not create a separate standard or a special permission to use the mark. For an uncertain application or a concern about labeled work, contact VerifiedHuman.
